Instructor (Western Bakery and Pastry)


Major Duties:
(a) To conduct classes and practical training including supervision of students’ projects and Integrated Learning Experience / Work-Integrated Learning;
(b) To prepare and update training materials and assist in curriculum development;
(c) To deliver catering and culinary services to hotel guests and members of general public;
(d) To maintain training-related records and store inventory;
(e) To assist in the routine maintenance of equipment / facilities of the Section;
(f) To assist in the recruitment and placement of students; and
(g) To assist in the effective running of training programmes, training kitchens, special training events / functions and culinary competitions.

(a) A recognized higher diploma in the discipline of Western Bakery and Pastry or equivalent; and preferably with a Hygiene Manager Certificate or equivalent;
(b) At least 3 years’ relevant work or teaching experience in hotel / catering industry;
(c) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese;
(d) Good knowledge of basic computer applications; and
(e) Ability to pass a trade test.

(1) Candidates without the required academic qualifications stated in (a) above but possessing 8 years’ relevant work or teaching experience may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours, work on shift over a full 7-day period and in designated places as assigned.
(3) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
