Financial Control – Insurance Business Finance Department

Hang Seng's Financial Control function works closely with the Bank's stakeholders, including business partners, shareholders, regulators and external examiners. We function as their accountants and business partners in providing comprehensive information on financial management, financial planning, financial reporting and compliance, capital planning and reporting, financial control & SOX control, tax advisory, insurance finance, and treasury and investment finance.

Insurance Business Finance Department (“ISF") is a business finance function supporting HASE insurance activities and we are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Insurance Finance Manager.


Principal responsibilities

  • Be a finance SME to participate in Group Insurance progamme driven project for implementation of changes per new accounting standard IFRS 17. 
  • Support Insurance Business Finance to have a smooth transition period on the implementation of the new standard IFRS 17;
  • Perform data analysis for CSM data input and financial results analysis of the new standard, evaluate process flow in new operating model;
  • Perform testing on dashboards and forecasting solution, in supporting the management information to be presented under the new standard; 
  • Facilitate and monitor the progress of regular discussion with Project Consultant, Project work groups, local unit stakeholders;
  • Consider any change of new process with SOX risk and initiate any updates on FIMs / DIM
  • Manage change, facilitate transition process, and evaluate any risk located with any implementation, communicate with related stakeholders (onshore and offshore teams) on change update and action.



  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline with a recognized professional accounting qualification
  • More than five years’ experience in accounting / auditing, with knowledge of insurance and financial products an advantage; 
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Sound knowledge of application software such as MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese
