Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s regional headquarters oversees more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. In addition to regional business units, Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.

Care Chemicals Asia Pacific (A-EMA) offers a broad portfolio for hygiene, personal care, home care, industrial & institutional cleaning as well as technical applications. Care Chemicals is the leading supplier to the cosmetics industry, detergents and cleaners industry. They operate production and development sites as well as sales offices in all regions.

Objectives of the Position

  • As part of the Regional Controlling team, you will be reporting to Vice Director, Regional Controlling, Care Chemicals and support the team in projects, preparation of reporting, cost-analysis of regional business development, etc.

Main tasks

  • Support in reporting activities (i.e. efficiency of the sales force, analysis of the performance of the top customer, customer and product performance overview)
  • Prepare analysis of regional business development (i.e. fixed cost development, margin drivers)
  • Support in rolling out efficiency KPIs and in project works (i.e. benchmarking, organization of the annual RBU controller meeting, implementation of the new reporting environment, etc.)
  • Track project implementation progress

Requirements

  • Commitment to a 7-month full-time internship from October 2018
  • Students of Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Business or related disciplines
  • High proficiency in oral and written English
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willing to learn and able to work independently with minimum supervision
