Community Business offers internships during the academic year and summer months. The Internship Programme is open for application by university or tertiary students who are 18 years old or above. Applicants should be fluent in English and fluency in Chinese will be an advantage. Applicants should possess a strong interest in responsible and inclusive business.
For summer interns, applicants should be able to commit to working full time (Monday to Friday) for 2 months or more. For interns during the academic year, applicants should be able to commit to working regularly each week, as agreed beforehand, during the internships.
Our Internship Programme is designed for people who demonstrate a strong interest in responsible and inclusive business, in particular, working in the area of diversity & inclusive and/or corporate social responsibility.
Although we are interested in receiving applications throughout the year, we do recommend that interested individuals apply early for summer and winter sessions as we can only accept a limited number of interns during these peak holiday times.
FEATURES OF THE INTERNSHIP
Community Business conducts pioneering research relating to responsible and inclusive business in Asia. Our research projects vary and we encourage our interns to take initiative in the areas they are interested in and propose new ideas and angles.
Events and Public Relations
Community Business organises a number of workshops and seminars throughout the year, both for its members and the broader business community in Asia. Our interns have the opportunity to assist in event management, marketing, press relations and media engagement.
Involvement in other activities of Community Business
Community Business is frequently invited to deliver speeches, workshops and participate in events. We give our interns the opportunity to attend these events, where possible, to interact and network with individuals from all sectors of the business community.
Community Business values the independent research ability of interns. They may enjoy flexibility with regard to workplace and work hours.
Unfortunately, we are unable to pay our interns. However, we are able to reimburse them for expenses directly related to research work, which are agreed beforehand. We will provide a letter of reference upon request.
Our research is predominantly conducted in English. All interns are expected to have a high level of English proficiency. However, increasingly we are producing bi-lingual versions of our publications, so spoken and written fluency in Chinese is a greatly valued skill.
Length of Internship
The minimum internship period offered by Community Business is two months or 8 weeks, with ideal candidates committing to at least three months.
Please apply directly through our website and clearly state:
which area of work you are interested in and why
the period of time you can commit to Community Business
Please note we do not accept applications by fax or post. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered. Successful applicants will be contacted.
All applications applied through our system will be delivered directly to the advertiser and privacy of personal data of the applicant will be ensured with security.
