Investigation Leader

To assist the Engineer in leak detection works, to supervise the Investigator and to prepare relevant records according to the prevailing guideline or as instructed by the Engineer.

Requirement

The Investigation Leader is required to be proficient at typing (in both Chinese and English) and operating computer system and shall have:

(i)      A minimum of five (5) years of site experience in leading field working teams in conducting leakage detection work for water mains of all materials and sizes of pipes; and

(ii)     A minimum of five (5) years of site experience in Leak Noise Correlators (LNC) surveys, Mechanical Leak Detectors (MLD) surveys, Electronic Leak Detectors (ELD) surveys, Hydrophones, pipe locator surveys, and other related surveys; and

(iii)    Holding a valid “Certificate in Leak Detection on Water Mains" issued by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC) or equivalent and having passed to the Engineer’s satisfaction a trial test arranged by the Engineer for testing the competence of the Investigation Leader.

Minimum Leakage Detection Survey Equipment shall be provided by the Investigator. Minimum Leakage Detection Survey Equipment shall be included, but not be limited to, the following items: LNC, MLD, ELD, Hydrophones, ground microphone, listening stick, noise loggers, pipe locators or as directed by the Engineer or his Representatives. 

Investigator

To assist the Engineer in leak detection works, to carry out the LNC, MLD, ELD, Hydrophones and pipe locator surveys for the leakage detection work and to prepare relevant records according to the prevailing guideline or as instructed by the Engineer.

(ii)     Holding a valid “Certificate in Leak Detection on Water Mains" issued by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC) or equivalent and having passed to the Engineer’s satisfaction a trial test arranged by the Engineer for testing the competence of the Investigator.
