Investment Banking Product Specialist - APAC Region

The Role:


As an Investment Banking Product Specialist, you will be joining a team of highly talented subject matter experts who are driving revenue growth and client retention by working with Sales, Relationship Management, Product Management and Marketing to promote Market Intelligence’s data content and delivery business to the Investment Banking and Private Equity segments.


The Investment Banking Product Specialist is expected to possess a solid understanding of valuation modelling and, equity and debt financing workflows common in the Investment Banking and Private Equity industry. With a strong network of clients, the individual will be instrumental in expanding Market Intelligence’s footprint through the design and adaptation of our industry-leading content sets and analytical solutions.



  • Support our existing Investment Banking clients with a strong focus on enhancing clients’ workflows and account retention rate. Support consists of: advising clients on complex modelling requirements especially for valuation and other types of fundamental analysis using the Market Intelligence solution and working with clients with idea generation for sell and buy-side related mandates.
  • Manage the new business trial process with a thorough understanding of the clients’ workflows and how Market Intelligence’s content and Excel solutions enhance those workflows. Conduct product demos as needed and to design the best solution to fit a prospect’s or client’s needs.
  • Contribute to our APAC business strategy through a deep understanding of the local M&A markets, industry regulatory requirements, macro/market trends, client requirements and market expansion practices.
  • Act as a regional IB point of contact to help Product Managers consolidate and commercialize regional content and delivery enhancements.
  • Facilitate interactive group and individual Pre-Sale trainings on the suite of Market Intelligence products and services. Support the research and preparation of presentations for industry events, webinars round tables and other one-to-many external interactions.
  • Develop a complete understanding of our competitors’ products and be able to articulate Market Intelligence’s relative capabilities.
  • Possess a firm understanding of the diagnostic sales process and employ its principles and techniques when engaging with a prospect or client. Understand the client’s use of data to inform pricing.


Typical Background/Qualifications:


Backgrounds vary among our Product Specialists organization but a mix of technical skills and a strong entrepreneurial mindset are necessary. IB/PE research analysts, bankers, structurers and content experts at other market data vendors are actively being sought for this role. Qualifications included in a job posting would be similar to this:

  • Bachelor degree holder in Finance, Economics or related subject
  • CFA, Chartered Accountant, MBA with Finance Specialization or MAppFin qualifications will be a plus.
  • 3 - 10 years of relevant experience in Corporate Finance (Valuations), Investment Banking or Private Equity
  • Good understanding of capital markets (equity and debt financing) workflow (in addition to M&A)
  • Strong capabilities in complex valuation analysis, financial modelling and, deal structuring are desirable
  • Able to provide thought leadership around Investment Banking and Private Equity trends relevant to the APAC region
  • Strong communication, organization, presentation and negotiation skills
  • An entrepreneurial mindset which demonstrates drive, initiative, energy and an ability to assess opportunity in any situation
  • Previous experience using S&P Capital IQ/ SNL Financial products or similar in a current role will be a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Office applications knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skill .
  • Ability to travel across Asia Pacific for conferences, client presentations and trainings (30%+)
