The Franklin Templeton Academy, a global business unit of Franklin Templeton Investments, seeks a compelling presenter, compassionate trainer, and highly credible professional with investments industry experience to join us as an Investments Learning Consultant in our Hong Kong or Shanghai office.

The Investments Learning Consultant will work closely with internal business units to design, update, and deliver training modules for our customers who are largely bankers/financial advisors, or for end investors.

He/she will work primarily in Asia, with potential opportunities to teach in-person internationally. His/her key responsibilities are to design/develop/update investment education contents, create/publish investment articles and videos for company’s social medias, facilitate training workshops, manage company’s digital wealth management platform, and assist with training project management.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?

  • Designing and creating investment training materials in both Chinese and English.
  • Updating, enhancing, and translating existing English investment education materials into Chinese used in:
    • Existing instructor-led course material, including virtual classroom sessions
    • In-person classroom sessions
    • Digital wealth management platforms or social media
  • Delivering foundational training sessions to new industry professionals, teaching markets fundamentals, industry practices, selling and presentation skill courses in Cantonese, Mandarin and English
  • Taking the lead on contributing investment articles and creating videos for publishing on social media and digital wealth management platforms
  • Responding to group and individual needs and managing classroom logistics
  • Contributing to project team meetings and support training deliverables

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • University degree and equivalent work experience in Business and or Education
  • Exemplary presentation and group facilitation skills, some teaching/training experience preferred
  • Proficient in spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is required
  • Excellent written communications in both Chinese and English
  • At least 3 years of experience in mutual funds, asset management, bank, or financial advisory
  • Attainment of CFA, CFP, CAIA, FRM or MBA qualifications preferred
  • Highly creative in presenting complex financial information
  • Knowledge of digital wealth management platforms and social medias in Asia a plus
  • Knowledge of and interest in global financial market, economics a plus
  • A commitment to be a consistent and reliable team member who delivers quality results and meets deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Fundamental competence with basic business tools; the Microsoft Office suite – PowerPoint in particular
  • Experience using a range of technologies for training and effective communications, including mobile communication software, videoconference and web-based systems
  • Self-driven with positive attitude and strong ability to work independently and autonomously
  • Willing to travel across Asia to conduct trainings with the potential to travel intercontinentally
