IT Officer in the Information Technology Services (ITS) (Ref.: 511528) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary; or on a one-year temporary term, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline, preferably with working experience in the IT field. They should have a good command of written and spoken English; and good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.  Certification in ITIL v3/4 and PRINCE2 would be a definite advantage.  High-calibre fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.

Applicants should also have good knowledge of and relevant experience in some of the following areas:

  • database programming (PL/SQL, JDBC) with Oracle/SQLServer/MySQL databases and data integration (REST API, JSON)
  • ERP package, in particular Oracle PeopleSoft (HRMS/Campus Solution, PeopleTools)
  • web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, Node.js)
  • web and app programming (Java, Servlet, Swift, PHP, Python)
  • native/hybrid mobile app development across different devices with a good understanding of popular mobile IDE tools (e.g. Flutter, React Native, Vue, Cordova, etc.)
  • data analytics technologies especially using Power BI

Those with some of the following knowledge and experiences are preferred:

  • UX/UI design
  • API platform and API programming
  • DevSecOps platform
  • IoT and smart campus

The appointee will engage in digital transformation projects of the University, being responsible for collecting and analyzing user requirements; conducting design, development and maintenance of enterprise-based IT systems; providing quality IT services to the University community; and performing other duties as assigned.
