IT Technician in the Department of Politics and Public Administration (Ref.: 508835) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Software Engineering or related disciplines, with at least 2 years of relevant work experience. They should have good skills in various operating system environments including Windows and Linux; solid experience in system administration, installation and maintenance of Windows workstation, video conferencing (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and network technologies; knowledge of web development, (e.g. HTML, MySQL, jQuery); and experience in providing in-house applications end-user support.
The appointee will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Department’s IT infrastructure, server administration, IT security and IT procurement. He/She will provide technical support; troubleshooting and maintenance of application software and computing facilities; conduct website management; and perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
