Responsibilities:

• Provide legal and regulatory advice to the Bank primarily supporting the dispute resolution team
• Handle and manage contentious matters and complaint cases and provide support to senior legal counsels
• Advise court orders, summons and general litigation matters
• Perform legal research and prepare reports to management
• Review internal policies and procedures
• Work closely with external legal counsels
• Identify and manage legal risks in support of the growth of the business of the bank.
• Provide general support to the legal team in support of the bank’s retail and corporate banking businesses

Requirements:

• Bachelor or above in Laws or related disciplines
• For junior counsel, qualified solicitor in Hong Kong with up to 3 years’ PQE / for paralegal, 2-4 years’ paralegal experience gained from a reputable law firm or in-house legal department in banking / financial sectors preferably focusing on dispute resolution or litigation
• Experience in handling summons / court orders and general litigation matters is an advantage
• Strong sense in legal and compliance. Sound knowledge in banking will be an advantage
• A good team player with excellent presentation and communication skills
• Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English
