The name “Dang Wen Li" is a nod to “Dominique" in Cantonese. And it stems from a simple but important idea – to create a bakery especially for Hong Kong.
In this capsule collection, Chef Dominique uses his signature whimsical style and creativity but showcases pastries that are exclusive only to Hong Kong and unavailable elsewhere.
“I have always loved Hong Kong," says the Chef. “But for me, it did not make sense to copy and paste our menu from New York into Hong Kong. Food is about memories – a recollection of a moment, a time, an icon. And that’s why it is so important in making pastries that it relates to the people there." Using local inspiration and ingredients from throughout Southeast Asia, the team at Dang Wen Li are excited to share their work.
