Position Purpose

Within BNP Paribas Hong Kong, the Regional Coordinator Support Team’s objectives is to be the sole interface for internal stakeholders in APAC going through the KYC policy, due diligence onboarding and recertification process.

The team supports the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) business, which encompasses
  • CLM CRM/CAM governance, such as CRM/CAM Regional Call and SPOC for other global committee organized by CLM Global Coordination Support.
  • KYC policies Expertise : act as SME (Subject Matter Expert) on policies and co-ordinate the policy consultation process for CLM across APAC, or ad hoc impact analysis.
  • Operationalization and implementation of KYC policies across APAC following the strategies and roadmap defined and agreed with CLM Global Coordination Support, with a strong focus on Passport/Reliance.
  • Global Quality and Monitoring : provide regional operational support to KYC Operations Teams performing their KYC while completing amendments under their remit in the frame of the KYC Policy, such as RM amendment, KYC terminations, reactivations, restrictions, etc.


Direct Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Global Team and Compliance on the coordination of consultation and release of the various KYC related policies/procedure and guidelines including side policies such as Sanctions and PEP.
  • Support 12 jurisdictions in APAC with Hong Kong and Singapore being the focus.
  • Provide continuous advisory support on policies and guidelines to all the Client Management teams in APAC.
  • Perform gap and impact anlysis on policies and guideline changes.
  • Provide or coordinate information or training sessions to the APAC Teams on policy update/changes or refresher sessions on existing policies/procedure/guidelines when necessary.
  • Host a Regional Call with all APAC Team Heads on a weekly basis to share policy updates, discuss issues and share best practices.
  • Provide input and insights from policy perspective during Internal/External audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Participate to ad-hoc projects
  • Global Quality and Monitoring : provide regional operational support to KYC Operations Teams performing their KYC while completing amendments under their remit in the frame of the KYC Policy, such as RM amendment, KYC terminations, reactivations, restrictions, etc.
  • Generate MI reports independently and apply Quality Assurance (QA) Principle on improving KYC Data Quality in accordance to the Global KPIs in Asia Pacific.
  • Working collaboratively with KYC Operations Team in Hong Kong and APAC region to identify and coordinate the implementation of process improvement initiatives in addressing quality, efficiency and policy compliants areas.

Contributing Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with other relevant team members and stakeholders to achieve
set objectives and resolve any issues during daily tasks.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives (e.g.: policy/ regulatory / operational/ data quality etc.) as directed by management.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Team player with strong work ethic and eager to learn.
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Specific Qualifications (if required)

University graduate, prior work experience/internship in the financial industry would
be an advantage.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Attention to detail with strong follow-up and good judgment.
  • Ability to focus on speed and set the right priorities without compromising accuracy.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision when required.
  • Good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) and preferably Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin).
