Our client is urgently looking for a Lead Copywriter


  • The Head of Copy will have a proven track record as a senior copywriter, with a solid understanding of how copy achieves marketing goals across a range of platforms, and the ability to generate immaculate copy for every brief.
  • Comfortable and confident in their writing with keen eye for the smallest detail, the ability drive and to deliver the sharpest copy to influence readers by delivering a clear message.
  • The Head of Copy should be apt writing compelling copy for long-form storytelling to concise tweets.
  • As well as using their initiative to seek out new trends and incorporate them into campaigns effectively, they should be willing to help less senior members to improve their copy skills.
  • Working alongside art directors, developers and designers, the Head of Copy must be a keen team player and self sufficient multi-tasker, full of original approaches and innovative ideas.

Major job responsibilities:

  • Read and review creative briefs and attend kickoff meetings, actively engaging and asking questions to make sure team is set up for success.
  • Shape and drive the development of concepts and copy for numerous consumer-facing multichannel campaigns always keeping in mind the objectives and the needs and requirements of the audience.
  • Partner closely with the Creative Director to create attention-grabbing campaigns.
  • Oversee brand reviews, making sure that team is providing appropriate feedback to bring copy on-brand and into compliance.
  • Help champion the brand identity, tone, and voice, both internally and externally.
  • Ensure that all copy meets brand standards and requirements (style, structure, tone) and that verbal and visual expressions work together.
  • Present, explain, and sell creative rationale to individuals, creative teams, project partners, and leadership with the ability to influence decision makers at multiple levels.

Job requirements:

  • 8 -10 years of copywriting experience in advertising, direct marketing, publishing in an editorial capacity, preferably with a Bachelor's degree in English, journalism or communications.
  • Report to the Creative Director and will be responsible for copywriting for work published on print and digital platforms.
  • Supporting the creative team with original creative concept development for advertising and marketing campaigns.
  • Will be responsible to write, edit and proofread all copy for marketing communications with an acute attention to detail. Adhere to creative standards for writing voice, format and style whilst being informative, engaging and persuasive.
  • Digital platforms include; edm, mobile, social media so must possess a solid knowledge of relevant best practices and demonstrate an understanding of the consumer/Internet user mindset
  • Flawless spelling, proofreading, strong editing skills and perfect grammatical skills are mandatory.
  • Must be well versed with the differences between US and UK spelling as well as language usage, vocabulary and expressions.
  • Native English is essential.
