The Role Responsibilities

Our vision is to disrupt the organisation by attracting, developing and deploying diverse early careers talent into areas of strategic importance and this role is responsible for leading the Early Careers agenda within either a business or market segment. Partnering closely with business stakeholders, this role will ensure that the early careers and talent accelerator proposition realises this vision and we are the employer of choice for diverse early careers talent in this segment/business. This role will also be expected to partner with the Head of Early Careers and Talent Accelerators to evolve the Bank’s overall Talent and Resourcing strategy

Identify Talent

  • Partner with relevant HR and Business stakeholders to determine the demand plan for Early careers, ensuring it is aligned to areas of strategic importance and there is a clear deployment pathway for the accelerator pipelines
  • Design the resourcing strategy for early careers in a specified region / business / function to identify the highest potential candidates, reducing time to offer and increasing quality
  • Create and execute employer brand and marketing strategies ensuring alignment with global brand strategy and standards, while addressing local market nuances
  • Partner with the employer brand team to ensure the brand and marketing activities focus on attracting diverse candidates to increase the diversity of the pipeline, meeting relevant targets
  • Act as the subject matter expert in early careers in various stakeholder forums. Partner with key stakeholders in a specific region / business / functional areas to plan and execute the early careers proposition in line with Bank wide standards.
  • Establish effective KPIs to monitor the effectiveness and return on investment in early career and talent accelerator initiatives and meet targets
  • Plan and execute strategies to continuously improve candidate experience and engagement throughout the early careers recruitment cycle, in partnership with Lead, Early Careers Resourcing and leadership team
  • Ensure effective delivery of services from our outsourced partner and challenge missed KPIs

Develop Talent

  • Effectively deploy the development activities relevant to your pipeline. Including but not limited to rotation planning, allocation of buddies, ongoing assessment, engagement events, inductions etc and create platforms for report back/senior visibility and alignment to business/market practises
  • Build capability and drive operational / delivery discipline to ensure projects and workstreams are delivered in line with strategic priorities and the agreed book of work
  • In partnership with the Lead, Talent Accelerators, manage any local country requirements that will support and enhance the global talent accelerator proposition and / or address any individual market needs. Eg) attrition/ localisation agendas/untapped talent pools etc

Deploy Talent

  • Ensure accelerator programmes within your remit are deployed in a timely way into areas of strategic importance and meet the needs of the individual and the business
  • Partner with local HR teams to embed early careers talent pools into local talent management practices to ensure effective deployment of early carers and accelerator talent into areas of strategic importance
  • Own and drive relevant alumni activity in line with Bank wide standards, supplementing global activity with local engagement and communications activity where required

People and Talent

  • Responsible for managing and recruiting staff in the team, ensuring adequate capacity and focus on building an inclusive and innovative culture that is underpinned by sustainability and conduct
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback, recognition and reward in collaboration with risk and control partners that reflect individual and team performance against agreed objectives
  • Lead by example in setting tone and expectations of colleagues that is consistent with the Valued Behaviours. Clearly define priorities and individual objectives for direct reports and virtual teams. Connect objectives and growth plans with strategic priorities of the Bank and colleague aspirations
  • Lead indirect and matrix teams (including third party sourcing partners) to deliver specific projects and deliverables as determined by the relevant scorecard metrics and agreed functional priorities
  • Prioritise development of talent to contribute to building strong leadership team succession pipeline for key roles

Risk Management

  • Ensure effective first line identification, management, monitoring and reporting of risks is undertaken in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) in a way that is consistent with the authority and responsibilities of the role
  • Effective management of operational risks and compliance with all applicable internal policies, external laws and regulation
  • Discharge Country Risk Owner responsibilities for relevant HR processes as required, ensuring appropriate first line responsibilities are upheld at all times

Governance

  • Ensure adherence to the Group Student Hiring Standard (or other related policies and standards) and operational processes governing student hiring
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
  • Assess the effectiveness of the team’s governance, oversight and controls and, if necessary, propose/implement changes in these areas
  • Use data and reporting to track success measures and impact of early careers hiring, ensuring appropriate oversight of strategic and operational effectiveness metrics that are used to ensure flow of quality candidates in the recruitment pipeline
  • Engage with relevant audit report findings and ensure feedback is acted upon
  • Ensure that all approved HR investments and capital / project expenditure are managed within the agreed enterprise project management standards
