The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (CUSCS), founded in 1965, is a self-financing extension unit of CUHK with its mission to provide quality lifelong education to the community of all ages.  The School offers a wide variety of full-time and part-time post-secondary, professional and continuing education programmes and general courses in diversified disciplines.  CUSCS now invites applications for Lecturer/ Assistant Lecturer to provide support in teaching, programme administration, quality assurance and other teaching-related activities to the English and European Languages disciplines.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree in English Language or English Literature; (ii) a Master's degree in a related discipline; (iii) at least four years’ post-Master relevant teaching/ professional experience at tertiary level; (iv) proficiency in spoken and written English; (v) good experience in design and development of courses, teaching materials and curriculum to meet diversified community needs; and (vi) demonstrated good connections in related industries.  Applicants with less experience but have at least two years’ post-Master teaching experience may be considered for appointment at Assistant Lecturer rank.

The appointee will (a) teach academic courses and programmes on offer at SCS in the related disciplines; (b) ensure ongoing curriculum review and overall quality delivery of courses and programmes; (c) supervise student projects and arrange student activities; (d) provide academic guidance and consultation to enable holistic growth of students; (e) contribute to programme planning, development and administration; and (f) participate in programme promotion for admissions.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years commencing September 2018, renewable subject to mutual agreement.  Further information about the Higher Diploma programmes is available at
