Lecturer I in Public Speaking (PR0322/20-21)

The University invites applications to work in a team setting to teach a university core course, “The Art of Persuasion", for its General Education Programme. The appointee is expected to perform teaching duties related to all aspects of the course, including but not limited to presenting class lectures, conducting tutorials, grading speeches and related written work, meeting with students on an individual basis as needed, preparing teaching materials and course record-keeping. The appointee should also meet service expectations as needed by the department.

Requirements:

  • at least a Master’s degree in Communication, English, or related fields;
  • prior teaching experience in communication-related courses will be a strong advantage; and
  • fluency in English (as speeches are delivered and assessed in English, and the medium of instruction is English).

Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed contract of nine months. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
