Legal - Markets - Vice President

The APAC Markets Legal team is looking for an experienced lawyer to join the legal team supporting the APAC cash equities and prime finance businesses. The role will focus on supporting the regional cash equities business which will require the lawyer to (1) advise on day-to-day legal and regulatory matters impacting the APAC cash equities business, (2) provide legal advice for new products and other business initiatives, (3) maintain and update precedent legal agreements, (4) draft and negotiate tailored agreements where required, (5) analyse and review jurisdictional requirements and regulatory changes across the APAC region, (6) represent the bank's interests in key industry working groups (e.g., ASIFMA), and (7) work collaboratively with legal colleagues and members of the business and other core functions globally within the bank to deliver timely results.

Candidate Qualifications

  • A qualified lawyer from a common law jurisdiction or the United States with approximately 4 to 7 years PQE and experience gained at an international law firm and/or leading financial institution or buy-side firm.
  • Experience with global markets legal work and contact law. Experience in equity market structures and related laws and regulations is advantageous.
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex factual matters and present clear and concise legal advice.
  • A willingness and aptitude to learn new areas of the law and to take on new types of tasks.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
