Loss Prevention Officer

The role will be reporting to the Inventory Controller. The candidate will supervise and monitor stock and staff movement to minimize stock discrepancy and shop pilferage. He or she will also be in charge of putting security policies and controls which the Retail and Office Staff will adhere to.

The Successful Candidate is expected to:

  • Define the Standard Operating Procedure in providing physical security measures with the assistance of outsourced security guards, if required.
  • Provide security measures and safety controls for all company’s properties, stocks and other assets, including installation of relevant monitoring controls such as CCTV. This can include inputs on good movement, stock delivery, receiving procedures and checking of staff’s personal belongings.
  • Monitor loss exposure and inventory discrepancies and introduce corrective actions, loss prevention measures and standards to minimize stock variances to the Inventory Controller.
  • Plan and conduct periodic audits to check the compliance of systems and practices.
  • Handle all security related issues at the shop, warehouse and office such as theft cases, break-in, pilferage etc.
  • Review and monitor CCTV feeds to identify potential criminal acts and to apprehend shoplifters as timely as possible.
  • Support company’s security and safety policies by conducting security and safety awareness training programs and respond to all emergency calls in store.
  • Identify and investigate malpractice and discrepancy in stock counts. The investigation may include interviews of the staff or any other personnel identified to have knowledge of the incident, which will require proper documentation.  
  • Monitor cashier’s activities and escalate observations to the Inventory Controller as soon as possible to act on the wrong act of employee.
  • Work with HR, airport authorities, police officers and other external parties to resolve incidents as amicably as possible.

The Successful Candidate is required to: 

  • Has at least 4 years of experience as Loss Prevention to take care retail shops, warehouse and office
  • Has a Diploma in any field
  • Preferably with an auditing or law enforcement background
  • Is familiar with loss prevention
  • Is tactful, discrete and able to hold confidential and sensitive information
  • Is sharp, resourceful and aware of crime prevention methodologies
  • Is able to communicate well in verbal and written English
  • Immediate Available is highly preferred;
  • Work in Hong Kong International Airport.
