Accounting Manager – Private Equity / Real Estate Funds required for an established and experienced provider

My client is an established and experienced provider of alternative investment services who are actively expanding their Luxembourg office. They currently have a team of 35 but plan to double that over the next 18 months. Due to this growth, they are now looking for an Accounting Manager to join them and will report directly to the Head of Accounting. The successful candidate will lead a team of accountants responsible for the day-to-day administration and accounting for a number of real estate structures. Taking ownership of the client relationships within the team and adopting a coaching style to optimise the team’s workflow, development and performance.

Some of the key responsibilities will involve:

  • Main contact person for shareholders and be responsible for investor communications and the issue of shares and capital transactions
  • Liaising with clients, lawyers, auditors, and other Business Partners
  • Review all team members’ work;
  • Coach and support the development of team members;
  • Attend management meetings and make a positive contribution in discussions;
  • Support the operational functions of the team where required in line with operating policies and procedures (e.g. board meeting, CDD and SSAE 16 logs);
  • Review of accounting outputs for subsequent review by the client;
  • Suggest and implement measures to improve efficiencies in team operational processes;
  • Implementations and maintenance of the legal and fiscal structures of funds, working closely with the Compliance and Projects teams

The right individual will have previous experience and knowledge of accounting within Private Equity / Real Estate Funds Administration or Investment Banking and the following attributes:

  • A minimum of 5 years demonstrable experience of working on Real Estate / PE funds
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of accounting principles (Lux GAAP, UK / US GAAP) as well as applicable laws and rules
  • Experience of managing a US/UK English speaking client is necessary;
  • Experience of organising and planning delivery of the quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and developing a team of accountants;
  • Demonstrable experience of being client facing and managing a client relationship
  • Multilingual candidates will hold a distinct advantage (French / German speakers)
