Manager / Assistant Manager, Intermediaries Business (Contractors' All Risk)

Job Purpose:
We need a technical and professional engineering underwriter to focus in developing engineering business with local intermediaries and direct report to Head of Construction. This candidate needs to have ability to underwrite both civil and superstructure contracts plus other engineering products like construction plant and machinery. He/ she needs to do both marketing and underwriting.

Main Responsibilities:

• Marketing and enhance business relationship with local intermediaries to develop construction and engineering business, knowledge to EC and bond underwriting is a further advantage
• Underwriting submission review, price analysis and decide reasonable and appropriate underwriting terms and conditions
• Manage day-to-day operation of the construction portfolio
• Provide technical support on engineering issues to other team members, when needed
• Communicate with underwriting head and treaty leader on special cases
• Provide guidance to administration on policy issuance

Incumbent Requirements:

• More than 5 years' experience for AM and 10 years' experience for Manager in underwriting construction and engineering business of Hong Kong, preferably with ACII, ANZII or other insurance professional qualifications
• University degree in engineering would be an advantage
• Has good connection with local intermediaries
• Strong communication, interpersonal skill
• Work independently
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
• Good team spirit and collaboration with other teammates
