Manager / Assistant Manager - Legal & Compliance

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in opening clients account and conducting customer due diligence (KYC and AML checking);
  • Drafting, reviewing and revising agreement and compliance policies and procedures;
  • Assist in designing and implementing relevant compliance monitoring and reviews to ensure compliance with the applicable legal and regulatory requirements;
  • Assist in providing advisory services to management and various business units;
  • Assist in handling licensing applications, filings with SFC and CGSE and updating CPD records;
  • Liaise with external regulatory bodies (e.g.: SFC and CGSE), legal counsels and/or consultants where required;
  • Keep abreast of market and regulatory changes and ensure our colleagues are aware of those changes;
  • Ensure our business is in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and operational risk control procedures; and
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as required from the company or other departments from time to time.

Job Requirements:


  • A strong sense of responsibility, mature, hardworking and a strong team player with good inter-personal and communication skills;
  • Candidate with an ability to multitask, prioritize tasks according to urgency and meet deadlines will be viewed favourably;
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese is required. Proficiency in Putonghua is not a must but will be an advantage; and
  • Professional accounting or legal qualification is not a must but would be a plus.


  • Degree holder in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Law, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Law or other related disciplines;
  • Candidates with a law background (LLB/ JD/ LLM degree and/ or paralegal experience) are highly desirable (but not a must);
  • For the Manager role, preferably to have candidates with 6 years of working experiences in the relevant field, and with experience in dealing with regulators (e.g.: SFC) and/ or reviewing legal documents;
  • For the Assistant Manager role, preferably to have candidates with minimum 4 years of working experiences in the relevant field, and with experience in dealing with regulators (e.g.: SFC) and/ or reviewing legal documents
