Position Description
Reporting to the Assistant Director, you’ll above all be responsible for ensuring every child receives a safe, loving, home-like environment and high quality child care. Responsible for managing the day to day operations of our Child Care home, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring compliance to relevant HKSAR policies, child protection and agency policies and procedures, and you’ll ensure that our Child Care home is run in an efficient and effective manner. As such, your role will involve budget planning, managing day to day operations and teams as well as leadership of special initiatives or projects to drive improvements.

  • Operations and People Leadership
    • Oversee the day to day operations of the Child Care Home, including leadership of Child Care, Administration and Finance team members.
    • Shape the culture of the Child Care Home operations to be one that is highly motivated & engaged, and lead the team in consistently working together in the best interests of children. Ensure a positive, healthy and safe work environment.
    • Manage the development and performance of team members and volunteers to ensure quality holistic care to our serving communities through recruitment, development, coaching etc. Conduct performance reviews with employees as needed, in compliance with Mother’s Choice HR policies
    • Drive continual improvement and ensure smooth implementation of Service review recommendations, and new or improved processes or policies
    • Partner with colleagues across the organization to plan and implement cross-department initiatives 
  • Operational planning and management
    • Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the organization's programs and services
    • Ensure services and safety comply with the requirements of relevant ordinances under HKSAR.
    • Drive continual improvement in support of the organization’s mission. Improve and implement operational systems, processes and policies as needed, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations
    • Oversee the internal data management system and ensure monthly key performance indicators are updated, recorded and monitored
    • Assist Assistant Director in strategic planning & budgeting, execution of special initiatives & projects, and regular reporting
    • Ensure that sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures are followed
    • Oversee and evaluate the risks to the organization's people (clients, staff, management, volunteers), property, finances, goodwill, and image and implement appropriate measures to control risk
    • Perform other duties as necessary

Job Requirements

  • A passion for serving babies and special needs children;
  • University degree or above in social administration management/ Allied health degree/ Child Care supervisor degree or any related disciplines;
  • Several years managerial work experience, ideally in child care services or residential services, having recruited, developed and managed child care teams
  • Excellent administrative & organization skills and attention to detail;
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and circumstances; ability to work under pressure;
  • Proactivity, a positive attitude, and strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent spoken and written Chinese and English.
  • Familiarity with Hong Kong residential service with child development/ early childhood education is an advantage
