We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Manager, Corporate Sustainability.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to Senior Corporate Sustainability Manager, Asia Pacific, the job holder will support her/his line manager as appropriate, in consultation with Global Sustainability and other key stakeholders where appropriate, to provide guidance, develop, implement, report and advise on all sustainability matters and initiatives in particular on financial, operational and risk management for Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific region

  • Drive and monitor budget utilization in Hong Kong and the region through regular budget review

  • Initiate, develop and implement regional operational risk and control programmes that align with the Bank's control framework

  • Manage the overall departmental overheads and budgeting process for the region

  • Provide operational support to the regional team

  • Engage with Group Finance and Group Sustainability to deliver proper financial management

  • Build a positive CS profile for HSBC through various promotion and partnership

  • Work closely with CS regional team members and CS colleagues in ASP markets

  • Ensure the effective implementation of CS strategies and reporting requirements

  • Manage CS cost centre in the region and Hong Kong, for CS expenditure to be within budget

  • Improve departmental operation processes

  • Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events

  • Ensure all Group/regional guidelines are met and activities are consistent with Group priorities


  • University degree

  • Relevant academic and professional qualifications in accounting or finance

  • Sustainability or business risk knowledge is preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills when working with customer groups/functional groups, welfare agencies, government officials, and community leaders

  • Ability to manage multiple projects of various natures simultaneously and the ability to prioritise

  • Flexibility and adaptability are required as tasks are unpredictable, complex and time sensitive
