Oversee and lead Major & Minor claims teams supporting both Agency and Alternate Distribution channels. Ensure all valid claims are paid promptly and accurately. Monitor operations performance to support company’s objectives and growth.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the turnaround time of appeal minor and major claim cases is met (T+7 for 2018). KPIs shall be reviewed regularly. Approve claims within own claims authority and make recommendation to senior manager or above for those claims exceeding own authority limit or the previous claim decision is being reversed. Ensure the claims guidelines are properly followed. Approve minor and major claim escalated cases from teammates when necessary.
  • Handle complaints from regulatory bodies and media including but not limited to Insurance Authority (IA), Independent Complaint Bureau (ICB), Consumer Council and media etc as well as handling honorary secretary (Hon Sec) cases from ICB.
  • Share the findings with the claims assessors via head of major and minor claims regularly, identify areas of improvement, give suggestions aiming to enhance the quality of the assessment skills and quality of claim decision.
  • Responsible for monthly IQC and provide professional advice to the assessment teams to enhance the quality of work.
  • Handle other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by supervisor (eg. new cases/pending cases assessment; claim manual update; training; projects etc)


Job Requirements:

  • Degree from a recognized University
  • Minimum of 10 years claims experience in individual life insurance/medical insurance.
  • Professional qualification in Life Insurance including FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute), ALHC (Associate, Life and Health Claims), ACS (Associate, Customer Service).
  • Good PC skills in MS Words, EXCEL, Powerpoint.
  • Fluent English and Cantonese (Mandarin is an advantage).
  • Good written English and Chinese.
