- The Competition Commission (the Commission) is an independent statutory body

established under the Competition Ordinance (Cap. 619) (the Ordinance) which was enacted

in June 2012. The objective of the Ordinance is to prohibit conduct that prevents, restricts

or distorts competition, and to prohibit mergers that substantially lessen competition in Hong

Kong. The scope of the application of the merger rule is limited to carrier licences issued

under the Telecommunications Ordinance (Cap. 106).

Manager (Public Affairs) (Ref.: CC/M2(PA)20180504)

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Public Affairs, the major duties of the position holder will include:



  • To assist in formulating publicity and public education strategies and initiatives;
  • To plan and implement publicity and educational campaigns targeting various

stakeholders;



  • To maintain excellent relationship with the media, organize media events, handle media

enquiries and interviews and other related matters;



  • To develop and produce external communication materials including brochures / leaflets,

articles, speeches and reports etc.;



  • To give talks / presentations to stakeholders; and
  • Any other corporate communications work designated as appropriate.

Requirements



  • A recognized degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related discipline;
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience;
  • Preference will be given to candidates with solid experience in publicity programmes

formulation and management, media relations as well as copywriting; experience in social

media an added advantage;



  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • A self-starter with creativity and strong project management skills with attention to

details;



  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Able to work independently and under pressure; and
  • Proactive, flexible and a good team player with excellent attitude.

Terms of Appointment

Terms: Appointment will normally be offered on a 2-year fixed-term contract, renewable

depending on performance and operational needs.

Basic Salary: The starting salary for this post is HK$51,285 per month. The basic salary

offered will commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and

experience.

Cash Allowance: 10% of the basic salary

Contract-end Gratuity: 15% of the basic salary (including 5% employer’s contribution of

MPF)

Fringe Benefits: Annual leave, medical & dental benefits, life insurance and MPF.
