The position is to manage and grow the retail operations of WWF Hong Kong, implementing the rebranding and refreshing of both WWF’s own product range and a line of sustainable products sourced from consignees. The role has responsibility for the service standards and product training our retail staff, product displays and customer support to increase the revenue in WWF Centres , from event pop ups and the e-store.

The overall goal is to introduce a range unique sustainable products, products showcased across our five WWF centres and other locations incouding the e-store and thereby help likeminded consumers live more sustainably.


Major Responsibilities:

Products and Sales

  • Manage a balanced relevant product range being able to demonstrate product sustainability alongside performance data and sales projections.
  • Research products and network with suppliers to review local and regional products against WWF sustainability scorecard. Negotiate with suppliers in a fair manner to optimise best value to consumers and thereby provide WWF income for conservation priorities and campaigns eg ‘No single use plastics’
  • To determine the pricing strategies for products/suppliers, based on market reviews, competitor positions and supplier’s financials.
  • Monitor and report on sales and inventory levels. Achieve sales targets based on the seasonal business plan.

Logistics and stock control

  • Monitors supplier’s shipments to meet agreed deadlines and thereafter verify quantity and quality of products received.
  • Ensure all products are allocated and dispatched to WWF locations in the most cost efficient and timely manner.
  • Monitor sales and performance of supplier’s products and give timely feedback and handle any fulfilment issues. Clearing poor performing products from inventory, including negotiations with the suppliers.
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with other internal departments on strategies to maximise the potential for sales of merchandise within various retail platforms.

Training and Service

  • Work closely with all retail platforms personnel and departments to provide an exceptional in-store or online customer experience.
  • Provide all retail platforms personnel or online information portals with relevant product information

Retail performance reporting

  • Responsible for daily sales results from all retail platforms being reported and shared at the completion of that days operating hours (re: online sales, as and when the last offline retail platform closes)
  • Daily interaction with all physical (off line) stores and their personnel
  • Daily monitoring of the online business and necessary follow up action with supporting departments.
  • Monthly analysis of product performance and presentation of results to line managers as required.
  • Quarterly budget and revenue review with line managers as required.
  • Annual and quarterly budget and revenue projections to be submitted and reviewed as required.

Required Functional Skills

  • Degree holder in Retail or Hospitality Management discipline
  • Minimum 7 years management experience, with 5 years in consumer goods and/or customer service and retailing.
  • Excellent people skills and budget management experience.
  • Proven experience in management of merchandising operations and driving business growth.
  • Proven experience in delivering high standards of customer service (external and internal) across a variety of platforms.
  • High degree of accuracy and professionalism in managing inventory and delivering an excellent customer experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of local and international product trends, retail concepts and formats.
  • Excellent in both written and spoken English. Proficiency in Cantonese / Putonghua is preferred but not essential.

  • Enthusiastic team player with strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

We offer a 5-day work week and competitive compensation and benefits packages to the right candidate. The office location of this post is at our Kwai Hing office (near MTR station) and required to work as arranged across all centres and other locations (in Central, Yuen Long, Tai Po and Sai Kung).
