The opportunity

The Manulife HK Retirement team manages the MPF and ORSO business in HK pension business in Macau. Manulife is the leader of the MPF market with #1 AUM market share and #1 net cash flow market share.

Reporting to the AVP and Head of Product, Strategy & Transformation of the HK Retirement team, the role will be responsible for delivering effective and efficient communication support both internally and externally. As communications play a critical role in the driving channels in delivering our business targets, the incumbent will need to ensure the target audiences are engaged and the messages of our MPF business are actively promoted. The incumbent will be partnering with internal and external stakeholders to provide communication and promotion support for distribution channels as well as customers and employees of the HK Retirement business, ensuring best practices are captured, and alignment to the Company's overall communication direction is achieved. The candidate will also need to liaise and coordinate with communication peers from the insurance and asset management units in planning and executing customer communications as required.

We are looking for someone with:

  • University graduate with Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or Communications
  • 6+ years of solid experience in corporate/marketing communications, preferably from leading brands/financial industry
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Enthusiastic with a "can-do" attitude
  • Creative, self-motivated and willing to challenge status quo
  • Strength in issue management and problem solving
  • Highly organized and attention to details
  • Ability to deliver quality work under pressure
  • Quick to adopt new skills and adapt to fast-changing environment
  • Excellent marketing & communication (both oral and written) skills
  • Experience in overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications, videos, website management, and social media content creation and management
  • Ability to blend attractive design and high functionality in all projects
  • Must be able to receive constructive criticism well
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and responsibly while managing numerous projects simultaneously
  • Superb interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time-management skills

On the job you will:

  • Develop and execute communications strategies/programs for the HK Retirement business to enhance and maximize its positive exposure. Responsible for the achievement of communications mission, goals and financial objectives. Ensure that evaluation systems, including benchmarks, are in place related to these goals and objectives and report progress to the AVP and Head of Product, Strategy & Transformation
  • Act as gatekeeper to monitor, maintain and boost the Manulife MPF/ pension brand position amongst customers and various distribution channels
  • Provide timely communications and engagement support for various distribution channels as well as customers
  • Heavily involved in copywriting, video and collaterals production, presentation deck preparation, website and social media content management, etc-
  • Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all MPF/ pension publications
  • Coordinate with compliance team on materials vetting and clearance
  • Ensure articulation of Manulife MPF/pension’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position both internally and externally. Uphold protocol to ensure a uniform “house style" (uniform fonts, logos, pictures).
  • Coordinate the appearance of all MPF/pension print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.
  • Undertake an advisory role on communications for the HK Retirement team
  • He/She will need to be resourceful and innovative to generate an impressive customer experience in the materials produced
