MD China Cluster Lead/Banker

  • Overall responsibility to lead and develop a team of Bankers
  • Growing the team and opportunities across the China market in Hong Kong
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure Bankers are leveraging specialists to ensure
  • interdisciplinary expertise for our most complex clients
  • Supervise, coach, and train junior staffs to maximize their individual contribution to the team as required
  • Monitor ongoing and team's performance against financial and other targets - AUM, Revenue, account
  • performance etc.
  • In addition to day-to-day management of the team, this role should also grow the team's book of business
  • and will be responsible for prospecting and developing leads for new clients
  • Build trust and develop relationships with select clients to help the client advisor team manage particularly
  • large or complex relationships, using resources and expertise of JP Morgan's platform, products,
  • services, and networks
  • Actively involved and helping the team in prospecting and acquiring new clients, cultivating prospect lists
  • and actively helping to convert and deepen client relationships
  • Understand each client's wealth objectives and investment requirements
  • Manage all aspects client relationship, develop and maintain long-term relationships through strong
  • personal networks and contacts
  • Work in close partnership with Investors in proposing, delivering, and executing solutions for clients; as
  • well as in identifying new business opportunities
  • Update clients regularly on markets, portfolio performance, investments opportunities, risks
  • May require regular travel into coverage regions to foster relationships



  • University degree holder and / or with 15+ years of professional experience in a similar capacity
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is required
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills
  • Strong understanding of the needs and sensitivities of clients (private individuals and families)
  • Proven track record on investment sales and / or relationship management
  • Track record of successfully building and growing a business within Wealth Management
  • Ability to drive change and implement disciplined management practices
  • Ability to expand AUM within the UHNW space
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex teams and drive strong execution and performance
  • Ability to influence and problem solve to address any implementation challenges
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding of investments, banking and trust concepts including, but not
  • limited to: asset allocation on structured portfolios, managed portfolios, brokerage accounts, portfolio
  • reviews, deposit and loan solutions, basic trust and estate products and identification of wealth planning
  • opportunities
  • Strong knowledge of local regulatory policies and guidelines
  • Appropriate local regulatory qualification and licenses
