The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

To work in a highly independent performance-based scrum team to drive significant uplift in digital acquisition through the adoption of new Adobe Martech and agile working methods. The individual will need to make sharp and independent decisions in working with our media partners and business teams on the media strategy to directly drive effective digital acquisition. It is expected the incumbent will require to make timely decisions on media as well as to have a medium to long term planning ability to shape our holistic strategy on digital acquisition.

It is crucial for the title holder to stay ahead of the constant evolving digital marketing scene and to be able to identify the right solutions that are applicable for delivering aggressive business targets, clearing roadblocks by articulating complex and technical jargon in a manner to stakeholders to drive change.

Business

The role will primarily be responsible for devising the media strategy to deliver the agreed OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) as agreed with the business and acquisition pod lead. The scope and definition of the accountabilities could still be expected to evolve given the pace of change in digital marketing and the introduction of new marketing tech stack over time.

  • The role will require the building of relationships and identify strategic media partners to collaborate with to drive further sales growth and implement effective measurements.
  • He / she will also need to keep track of competitor’s media and digital acquisition strategy, provide insights and devise appropriate action plans and counter measures.
  • The role will also act as the marketing lead for the Data Management Platform to ensure optimal targeting and return on our Marketing ROI. It is expected over time, the role will support other markets in the Group and in the region as a Centre of Excellence.

Processes

He/ she will be responsible for E2E data tracking by aggregating paid media knowledge across Google & Adobe platforms and ensuring up-to-date performance tracking of paid media performance. He/she need to possess the ability to analyse trends, gaps and identify corresponding strategies to close gaps and uplift performance.

The processes being managed are relatively new to the Bank and the individual will need to have the dedication and ability to influence key stakeholders to drive change.

People and Talent

This is a specialist role and the reporting line will be to the Head of Retail & Digital Marketing as well as accountability to the scrum master / pod lead. The individual will need to be able to navigate through change and uncertainty given the new methods being piloted.

Key Stakeholders

  • Externally, the role will need to manage effectively our creative and media agency partners as well as negotiating with strategic partners such as Google and Facebook to ensure the Bank stays ahead of the digital marketing trend.
  • Internally, the role will need to interact closely with other pod members (currently at Band 4 and 5) on a day-to-day basis as well as providing regular updates to local and group RB Manco teams as this is a new role piloting agile method, the staff will need to have strong communication skills to articulate to a diverse set of individuals and teams from different backgrounds and nationality. The nature of the interaction will be a combination of explaining more technical terms of digital marketing and influencing decisions to get buy-in for new trials.
