We are currently looking for a Regional HR Business Partner, North Asia to join us. In this role, you will lead the HR and Talent leadership for China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.

Reporting of the role
This role reports to the Asia Pacific Chief Talent Officer based in Singapore.

In this role, your goals will be:
In three months:

  • Assembled deep insight about the people, company and culture in MediaCom across the region.
  • Built an understanding of the holistic talent management environment.
  • Really got to grips with what we do and how we work with our clients.
  • Built excellent foundational relationships with business leaders.

In six months:

  • Taken control of and be driving multiple initiatives and projects.
  • Built a detailed understanding of the people analytics and be using them to develop strategies and initiatives to solve tactical and strategic challenges.
  • Demonstrated a commercial understanding of our business and our clients.

In 12 months:

  • Established yourself at the heart of business decision making in your region embodying our People First, Better Results philosophy.
  • Worked collaboratively to develop an impactful talent strategy and implementation plan for your region, which is aligned to the APAC and Global People Strategy.
  • Established strong partnerships with HR colleagues across the region and globally.

Responsibilities

  • The position will be the day-to-day business partner to the APAC Chief Talent Officer and leadership teams of the region to provide strategic and operational support.
  • Build relationships and collaborate across the business to understand and meet training requirements of the agency including MMDP/ Chrysalis/ Learning Hub.
  • Manage complex and difficult HR Projects cross-functionally, including the embedding of the artificial intelligence talent management platform.
  • Act as the performance improvement driver and provoke positive changes in the people management.
  • Be a Trusted Advisor to the agency. Develop close and trusted relationship with the leadership teams to identify and partner in the delivery of their unique leadership development & transition challenges.
  • Understand the environment we operate our business in and increasing demands from our clients and market on competencies of our talent.
  • Be a trusted confidante of our people, and ensure they feel comfortable to share any concerns or challenges they are facing, with you.
  • Where relevant, ensure global alignment on MediaCom’s key initiatives or projects, including talent reviews, succession planning and people analytics.
  • Build relationships and collaborate across the business to understand and meet employee engagement requirements, whilst providing high levels of internal customer service.

What you will need:

  • Approximately 10-15 years of Human Resources experience in MNCs, preferably from a fast-growing, large volume, consistently changing and high complexity environment.
  • Experience in working as a true strategic Talent Business Partner within a fluid, fast moving and dynamic industry.
  • High learning agility to understand the business strategy, financial environment, and team dynamics.
  • High level of maturity to professionally manage the typical contentious issues we face on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work across business functions with strong consensus building skills to move a strategy forward.
  • Ability and desire to embrace and manage change.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity – flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to learn.
  • Passion and patience in dealing with various HR and administration demands on a day to day basis.
  • Act as a Coach to effectively develop and retain valuable agency talent.
  • Ability to influence at mid and senior management levels.
  • Be a MediaCom brand ambassador, truly immersed in the culture and direction of the business.
  • Proven experience in delivering workshops.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin.
