1. Oversees, supports and makes contributions to patient safety by:
a. Providing a safe environment for patients.
b. Identifying and correcting root causes of errors.
c. Implementing systems to prevent errors.
d. Subscribing to the principles of responsible reporting of adverse occurrences, near misses, and safety concerns.
e. Providing evidence-based care.
2. In conjunction with department leadership, ensures effective operational and human resource management of assigned area(s) by:
a. Participating in the development, implementation and execution of short and long-term strategic, business, marketing and operational plans.
b. Working, in collaboration with leadership, to establish and implement goals, policies, procedures and standards.
c. Monitoring and evaluating operational effectiveness; making recommendations regarding revising and/or enhancing administrative procedures and/or operational and informational systems.
d. Coordinating, evaluating, and recommending for approval major equipment requests, and ensuring problems regarding equipment, communications and support systems are resolved.
e. Supervising assigned personnel by making or approving recommendations on issues related to employment, performance appraisal, salaries, transfers, and terminations.
f. Providing orientation and guidance; communicating job expectations, setting productivity standards, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and providing professional development as required.
3. Manages provision of clinical services delivery by:
a. Overseeing proper patient and physician flow and implementing improvements as necessary.
b. Ensuring and continuously evaluating customer satisfaction; resolving patient issues and implementing appropriate operational changes that promote consumer/patient satisfaction and effectively impacts clinical work flow.
c. Evaluating workload projections and modifying work schedules and staffing levels to provide optimal patient care and operational efficiency.
d. Working in collaboration with leadership to implement processes for continuous quality improvement projects for both patient outcomes and operational processes, including coordinating with other sites as needed for best practices.
4. Maintains current knowledge of the health care market as related to areas of responsibility, recommending changes based on trends in health care that have a positive impact on clinical operations and clinical support staff.
Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field or business (i.e. Nursing, Nutrition, Social Work, or other Health Profession, Business Administration).
7 years combined progressively responsible clinical and management experience in a healthcare setting including planning, analysis, and budget management; as well as program planning and development.
Excellent interpersonal skills required along with experience in working with multi-disciplinary groups.
