Menswear Senior Product Developer


The Role

We require an experienced Product Developer to help develop amazing products with our suppliers. You will have experience of international trends and developing products and a keen eye for detail.

You will be an articulate and confident communicator, able to cope with multiple tasks setting the Superdry standards and meeting critical path timelines.

You will

  • Work with the UK design team to develop amazing products with our suppliers in China and SE Asia, helping them to produce products with Superdry DNA and ensuring there are no delays on development deadlines
  • Understand the requirements of the upcoming seasonal ranges and products from the UK design team and work towards achieving the same
  • Successfully interpret design ideas and packs made by the UK team, understanding of products, trends, aesthetics and quality levels
  • Carry out research and development for relevant product categories within the local vendor base and markets, and update the UK team on new areas of interest including fabrics, printing, processing techniques and trims etc
  • Organise range meetings with the UK design team as per the seasonal calendars
  • Take accountability of the sampling and development process right from initial design concept up to salesman sample (SMS) delivery
  • Handover of all completed sampling styles going into production to the merchandising team members
  • Proactively search for new capabilities and techniques from the existing vendor base
  • Monitor competitor products within the market and study any trends that can be translated into a Superdry product

You are

  • Passionate about the Superdry Brand and excited to drive it forward
  • Educated to degree level in Design or Product Development from a reputed institute or University
  • Creative, with flair and a good understanding of fabrics, printing and processing techniques, washes, garment construction and pricing
  • Experienced in product development across various product categories particularly outerwear, knits, jersey, denim and wovens.
  • Able to interpret design ideas given by the UK design teams on all aspects of the range including fabrics, trims, embellishments, value additions and garments 
  • Knowledgeable of fits and product engineering
  • A team player working with various stakeholders in the business including the UK Head office and your local team
  • Experienced in working with branded apparel
  • Experienced in working with vendors including ancillary processes like printing, dyeing, washing etc.
  • Able to maintain excellent relationships with factories, processors, mills etc to help the development process
  • Experienced in working to international trends and developing products in a fast paced environment
  • Highly organised with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Proactive and able to work on your own or within a team
  • An excellent communicator – both spoken and written English, and able to communicate fluently with vendors and related parties in the local language
  • Passionate about the product with a keen eye for newness and detailing
  • A strong decision maker who can prioritise, and be able to work under pressure
  • Creative thinker with the skills and ability to present solutions to issues related to product during the development stages
  • Knowledgeable on MS office including Word, Excel, Power Point and design software
