To ensure qualitative and smooth liaison between suppliers / buyers and close co-operation with internal departments.
To anticipate product’s need in term of new market trend in order to guide our supplier to develop accurate sample and quality products.
Key position for production schedule, updates on system, prepare related reports to Manager, and directly contact with suppliers and quality team.
Understand the buyer’s need and the market trends in Europe.
Source relevant suppliers and assess them before introducing to buyers. Negotiate payment terms according to company’s policy.
To maintain a good and close relationship with the existing suppliers.
To maintain the portfolio of suppliers according to our needs.
Know where to get the best supply of quality material and suppliers of the specific location in competitive prices.
Guide the suppliers in accordance to the fashion trends and build up the trends with suppliers when needed.
Propose the most cost efficient way to fulfil buyer's request.
Follow product development for in-house styles, bring support to supplier and update the buyers per schedule.
Arrange the buyer's picking trip and all logistics when required.
Be proactive during negotiation round and strong support to buyer.
Family with the real ex-factory price range of different product category / construction.
Ability to give recommendation to settle the negotiation when there is a price gap.
Ability to push back and know when to say “No".
Ability to leverage basic shoe manufacturing process & shoe cost breakdown to assist the negotiation.
Monitoring and assess the suppliers' KPI in terms of development, communication and on-time delivery performance.
Ability to leverage GROW/DECLINE/EXIT strategy on supplier portfolio.
Accessthe suppliers' sampling capacity, production capacity and factory inventory.
Keep updated data following picking trip and adoption rate.
Handle suppliers debrief at the end of each season with main KPIs.
Analysis the sales turnover in each season and link it with supplier's performance.
Analysis the cost savings and business growth at the end of each sesson.
Situation / Scope:
Required to follow 300 to 700 styles per season.
Supplier portfolio is roughly 30.
Required to be the main contact for 1 or 2 buyers.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Diploma or Degree holder.
At least 6 years of experience in merchandising field, mainly in footwear.
Working in buying office or trading company for European market is preferred.
Strong sense in the market trend of footwear products.
Pro-active in problem solving and multi-tasked.
Able to communicate with stakeholders in different levels.
Strong in sourcing and negotiation skills.
Fluent in English and Mandarin is a must.
Proficiency in MS office such as outlook, Word, Excel and Chinese word processing.
Frequent travel is required.
