JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client-facing role to support the more experienced colleagues on advising on pension design for Hong Kong and international arrangements, MFP provider selection, and trustee/administrator selection
  • Project management and client management responsibilities appropriate for this role as you develop as a Wealth consultant. This will cover traditional as well as special situations, for one-off projects as well as nurturing ongoing relationships with MPF providers
  • Ongoing support for media-related enquiries, maintenance and enhancement of the Mercer MPF Satisfaction Index, development of MPF-related publication to showcase Mercer’s initiatives in the MPF industry and commitment to help Hong Kong save for retirement
  • Aside from client delivery, you will proactively review and identify major or minor improvements in the current processes. You will be excited to be part of a creation story on new ideas, establishing best practices and getting the word out about Mercer’s ideas for the enhancement of Hong Kong’s MPF member population
  • Direct and educate junior colleagues in carrying out different research and analytics. You will be able to apply your findings to arrive at recommendations or observations to add value to our clients, under guidance of more experienced colleagues

  • Complete tasks efficiently while learning more about own technical capabilities and expanding awareness and knowledge about Mercer Wealth
  • Ensure client folders are well-maintained, with good audit trail of the client communication, internal instructions and final output
  • Manage and service the assigned book of clients, with support from analysts and senior consultants. Liaise with providers to develop and maintain relationships, for expediting communication and decision-making
  • Support the maintenance of our MPF-related initiatives, PR/media launches, MPF provider databases. Work with sales team to deliver marketing and pitching collateral, and contribute to the new business acquisition process as a subject matter expert

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Have worked in an MPF provider, or with a consultancy focused on MPF benefits and legal structure, thus bringing experience of the MPF pension regime, own network of industry contacts and the MPFA, awareness of current and past trends that will impact on the success of the MPF
  • Good analytical skills using Mercer’s own frameworks and models to deliver client advice in relation to review of their provider, benchmarking and support with transition between providers
  • Can demonstrate strong communication, analytical and technical skills. Ability to articulate complex information, within parameters of your role and level, in layman and concise ways. Cantonese and English fluency is important, in order to deliver member education sessions to a large audience
  • Strong self-initiative and curiosity in financial services, self-motivated to seek out knowledge, test ideas and ways to contribute to the team. Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with senior and junior team members
  • Strong personal management in order to plan ahead for foreseeable tasks, and understand own capacity for unforeseeable tasks. Manage the schedule for routine jobs, and be able to provide estimates of the time required to complete your tasks for senior management reporting
  • Work experience: 5+ years of MPF industry experience, welcoming candidates from pension consulting, insurance and asset management
  • Language requirements: Strong English and Cantonese. Fluency in Mandarin, Korean and Japanese will be a plus
