Network Security Engineer

Our client an IT Vendor is seeking a Network Security Engineer.

Job Role:


  • Lead projects on improving security services, enhancing security posture, implementing new services and/or remediation;
  • Deliver projects from inception to deployment following ITIL processes and path to production using the systems engineering lifecycle;
  • Lead/assist in engineering security solutions that may include, but not limited to, datacenter firewalls, application firewalls, database security, endpoint security, and network/system forensics technology;
  • Responsible for developing and improving on existing correlation strategies as they relate to all security solutions with the goal of increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of our overall detection and prevention capabilities;
  • Execute cyber security projects related to enhancements, capacity planning, creating or maintaining engineering documentation, auditing systems being used as designed, and auditing systems that continue to meet the needs of the operational security teams utilizing them; and
  • Troubleshoot and resolve security service issues within the network and endpoint security environment.




  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred;
  • Professional Certificate in leading firewall, proxy, load balancer and endpoint vendors (Such as Check Point, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Symantec);
  • 4 years of experience in a security, systems, or network engineering role;
  • Must have 1+ years of experience with endpoint solution deployment ( such as AEP and DLP );
  • F5 professional certificate (LTM, GTM, ASM) is a plus;
  • Experience in developing project documentation (SA&D, SIT/UAT Plan, O&M);
  • Strong Linux or Windows operating system security skill;
  • Knowledge of Scripting in at least one of the following languages (Python, Ruby, Powershell, Json, etc);
  • Knowledge of Configuration management tool (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc);
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing concepts – secure-cloud configuration, cloud-security technologies and cloud-permission systems;
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access concepts and technologies to secure production and corporate access, such as: SSO, SAML Federated Identity, RBAC, authentication & authorization solution etc;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Customer service experience/Strong customer focus; and
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
