Job Description

Renaissance College is seeking to appoint a Network Specialist.

The roles and responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all IT networks and infrastructure with the College to provide a robust and stable network and server environment.
  • Implement and manage server virtualization with SAN and backup solution.
  • Liaise with the vendors’ on service and maintenance contracts, assuring preventive and disaster recovery plans are in place.
  • Collaborate with other senior technical personnel on system integration and software development.
  • Manage and document all the infrastructure-related processes and procedures.
  • Evaluate and implement appropriate new technologies to support operational, administrative and curriculum requirements.
  • Responsible for infrastructure efficiency, ensuring services performance at its peak level.
  • Provide new solutions based on needs analysis, e.g. services expansion and upgrade to help meet the college’s educational and operational objectives.
  • Manage and execute the tendering process of all IT-related equipment e.g. infrastructure, AV, MFP etc.
  • Coordinate and communicate with staff regarding planned outages, maintenance and system changes.


  • Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Information Engineering or professional industrial standard network certification, e.g. Cisco CCNA, CCNP.
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in supporting large server, network and IT infrastructure.
  • Knowledge and experience in deploying and managing directory services, e.g. Active Directory, Google.
  • Solid experience in E-mail, LAN, WAN and wireless LAN set-up and maintenance.
  • Experience in DNS, DHCP setup as well as large-scale services deployment.
  • Strong skills in Cisco network, Aruba wireless and hardware (server) management
  • Experience in using Mac, Windows, MDM software and content filtering application.
  • Experience in virtualization or HCI, firewall, SAN and backup management and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and shows initiative
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English is essential.
