Officer / Assistant Officer (Campus Safety and Facilities Management) - Campus Security

The appointee will be a member of the Campus Safety and Facilities Management Section of the Estates Office and manage an outsourced security team of over 100 personnel and provide quality security service for on-campus and off-campus premises of the University.

  • Monitor daily operation of outsourced security services contractor including but not limited to access control and car park management, etc.;
  • Monitor performance of outsourced contractor to ensure timely maintenance of security installations and equipment such as closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance system and security alarm systems, etc.;
  • Handle enquiries or complaints in security related matters;
  • Prepare security plans and participate in security operations for University's events/functions;
  • Participate and coordinate with outsourced contractors and other parties in emergency drills to ensure compliance with University procedures;
  • Liaise and coordinate with stakeholders or law enforcement departments to assess potential threats on campus security and operations; and
  • Review and implement security procedures and practices.


  • Possess a recognised degree with at least four years' post-qualification work experience in facility/property management or related disciplines, preferably with experience to manage outsourced security services contractor;
  • Solid experience in developing security processes, procedures and standards are essential.
  • Good communication and language skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) are required;
  • Knowledge and practical experience in security systems such as CCTV surveillance system, alarm management system and car park management system will be an advantage; and
  • Self-disciplined, hard-working, proactive, customer-oriented, and able to work collaboratively and independently.

Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Assistant Officer (Campus Safety and Facilities Management).

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Shortlisted candidates are required to sit for a written test.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
