The Estates Office of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), as the facilities management service provider of Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC), invites applications for the position Officer / Assistant Officer (Facilities and Campus Management) on secondment to JCCAC, a vibrant multidisciplinary arts village/arts centre and an exciting hub of artist studios and arts/cultural programmes. Housed in an award-winning architectural conversion from the former Shek Kip Mei Factory Estate, JCCAC is a self-financed registered charity and fully-owned subsidiary of HKBU.
The appointee will provide assistance on matters related to facilities management, operations and general administration of JCCAC. Tasks include (a) planning, overseeing and implementing facilities management services e.g. day-to-day facility operations, renovations, enhancement projects, reinstatement of studio units and formulation of operations related guidelines; (b) leading and monitoring the performance of service contractors, e.g. cleaning, security, on-site technical staff and pest control; (c) handling operations related administrative work and reports; (d) liaising with internal and external working partners; (e) planning and providing facilities support to JCCAC programmes; and (f) performing any other duties assigned by HKBU Estates Office and JCCAC.
Applicants should (a) be passionate about developing a career in arts/cultural venue management; (b) have a recognised university degree (or equivalent standard of education) or above in a relevant discipline, e.g. facilities management, business administration and humanities (arts/culture); (c) preferably have at least four years of work experience in a relevant field; (d) be numerical and have excellent command in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); (e) be well organised, proactive, self-motivated, meticulous and creative in problem solving; (f) possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; (g) be able to work independently and as a good team player; and (h) if occasionally called for, be willing to undertake irregular working hours and work on weekends and/or public holidays. Candidates with less qualification and/or experience will be considered for the post of Assistant Officer. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
