Officer (Project Management and Development Planning) [Role: Project Manager] (PR0311/22-23)

The University is seeking a dynamic, focused professional in built environment to join the Estates Office.

The appointee will join a team of professionals under the Project Management and Development Planning Section to carry out project management, design and space planning duties for the implementation of the University's capital projects and addition, alteration and improvement projects.


  • Support the Project Management and Development Planning Section to carry out project management duties, including liaison with government departments, and coordination and supervision of consultants, contractors and suppliers for execution of capital and non-capital works contracts for the University;
  • Liaise with stakeholders to understand their needs for project delivery;
  • Coordinate with the Cost and Contract Management Section of the Estates Office and internal departments procurement of contracts and cost-/budget-related issues;
  • Carry out space planning, design and feasibility studies; and
  • Take part in design presentation preparation including drawings, rendering and data visualisation, as well as production of working drawings, specifications, tender documents and other project control documents for in-house campus projects; and
  • Other tasks as required by supervisors.


  • Possess good academic and professional qualifications, preferably a master's degree in Architectural Studies or equivalent, and at least five years of relevant experience;
  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite, AutoCAD, Photoshop and SketchUp, with knowledge of Revit being an advantage; and
  • Creative, pleasant, service-orientated, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively and independently.

Applicants with less experience/qualification with demonstrably strong aptitude will also be considered.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Shortlisted candidates are required to sit for a written test.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
