Operational Risk Manager (12-month Contract)

A sizeable international firm is looking for a high-calibre candidate to join their global people risk team

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design or enhance the operational risk policies to ensure the Global People Risk Metrics for Group Insurance framework is embedded in the business activities;
  • Update the current risk assessment and control process which include risk appetite, tolerance and limits, and provide analysis and follow-up on the closure of related management actions and recovery plan;
  • Perform risk and control review and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of controls to determine the accuracy of data and the efficiency and security of information systems;
  • Support the implementation of the Global People Strategy for Insurance;
  • Cost analysis and management for Group Insurance and Insurance manufacturing entities, ensuring robust management of Direct and Indirect costs for Group Insurance and Insurance sites;
  • Liaising with senior management across HSBC and producing reports, papers and analysis for use at executive management committees and forums
  • Ad-hoc projects

Requirements

  • Degree holder in Accountancy, Finance, Technology, People, Business Management or related field or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience from insurance or banking industry
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work independently with minimum guidance as well as a team player
  • Strong command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent excel and powerpoint skills
