Investment Banking Operations is seeking a professional who is looking to partner with our business and other internal/external stakeholders to provide market leading front-to-back execution and settlement of transactions. This is a highly dynamic role with exceptional exposure to IBD, numerous Operations / Federation teams, and external counterparts (syndicate banks, agent banks, local brokers in certain markets).
Investment Banking Operations provide operational support throughout the lifecycle of a Corporate Advisory or Financing Deal. The department is structured as five functional teams within Asia, Europe and the US, including locations in Bengaluru and Irving. The teams are set up to manage each deal through logistics of marketing, deal execution, settlement, funding and invoicing of fees and expenses.
  • Team sits with the Equity Capital Market (ECM) and Credit Capital Market (CCM) team in HK IBD, and provides front-to-back support for all Asia transactions.
  • Ensures all required postings & underwriting approvals are in place prior to transaction launch
  • Handles system set-up, deal creation and trade booking
  • Manages the bookbuilding process including reviewing all orders via Sales and handle any deal related queries from Sales during a transaction
  • Review agreements, submit regulatory documentation to regulator.
  • Liaises with Controllers, ECM/CCM & IBD to ensure PnL is accurately recorded & all fees (e.g. Syndicate Fees/Arranger Fees/Underwriting Fees/Commitment Fees etc.) are settled.
  • Partners with Bengaluru support teams (Syndicate Ops/ Servicing Team/IMG Team) on closing (e.g. settlement/funding)
  • Provide ad hoc deal reporting , investor analysis & league table stats to senior ECM/CCM & Sales leadership
  • Works with the IBD Ops teams globally to provide colour around the execution of transactions


  • Prepare to gain a comprehensive understanding of the operational process lifecycle as well as Equity Capital Market /Credit Capital Market knowledge by interacting with internal and external stakeholders including Sales, IBD, External Counsels, Syndicate Banks and other federation teams in order to work toward the shared goal of business enablement and risk mitigation
  • Partner with a team of product experts to review all operational aspects of the trade flow while gaining strong technical knowledge, risk control and commercial awareness
  • Use your inquisitive mindset to identify efficiency opportunities with respect to process flow methodology as well as enhance scalability
  • Leverage your quantitative skills to decompose complex regulatory and operational process requirement, and propose creative, robust solutions
  • Oversight & ownership of the full front to back operational flow ensuring seamless execution of trades, new business and flow enhancements.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, able to focus on different projects/deals concurrently and with very strong attention to detail
  • Effective team player, enable team members to collaborate and communicate more effectively locally and globally
  • Ability to gain a strong commercial awareness, able to understand the impact of the role on client experience and firm profitability
  • Strong relationship skills with the ability to build networks with key stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to clearly articulate complex ideas
