SUMMARY

An opportunity to gain valuable and real-world business experience by working alongside the Management and the Legal and Compliance Team of The Core Group.

This is a position providing general day to day support to the Global Legal Team and the Compliance Manager of the Group in respect of legal tasks and compliance matters, as well as performing corporate and administrative functions in support of the business of the Group.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to)

  • Assist with drafting and/or reviewing legal documentation such as correspondence, memos, contracts, agreements, proposals and presentation materials.
  • Assist with English/Chinese translation work.
  • Assist with legal research work.
  • Assist with preparation of company filing documents and liaising with external company secretarial company on all company secretarial matters.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of regulatory documents.
  • Formulate internal policies and guidelines in accordance with statutory / company requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining a well-organised and professional database and filing system.
  • Assist with preparation of training materials.
  • Other tasks as required. 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Any other responsibilities as directed by management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • A law degree holder or equivalent (LLB and LLM degree desired).
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant legal working experience in recognizable organizations (experience in insurance or financial institutions is preferred).
  • Qualified lawyer (PRC, BVI, Cayman Islands, Singapore, United States or United Kingdom) would be an advantage.
  • Detail-oriented, have excellent organizational ability and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Full fluency in English and Mandarin (reading/written/spoken). Fluency in spoken Putonghua is required.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment, communicating with various parties.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to plan and prioritize, and follow through to successful completion, all assignments and ability to work effectively with minimum direction and supervision.
  • Experience in company secretarial matters is a plus, though not required.
  • Flexible on travel.
  • Due to the nature of our business a successful pre-employment background check is required.
