The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers 21 innovative degree programmes across our 3 Faculties of Design and Environment, Management and Hospitality and Science and Technology that are vocationally and professionally oriented and developed with significant industry input. The appointee shall report to the Dean and engage in delivering lectures, conducting tutorials and supervising students’ projects, preparing teaching materials, assessments and marking schemes, examination invigilation and carrying administrative duties related to the teaching and learning experience within the Faculty.
The successful candidate should have a Master’s degree, preferably a doctoral degree, in Aircraft Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aviation, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Quality Management or related fields; and at least 4 years’ teaching experience at tertiary level and/or experience in professional practice in the relevant fields. He/she should have good understanding of the development of vocational and professional education and training; good communication skill and good team player; strong commitment to excellence in teaching; good interpersonal and social skills; and high proficiency in English and preferably in Chinese, including Putonghua.
Preference will be given to candidates with:
(i) advance knowledge, solid research or work experience in aerodynamics, flight performance, aircraft design, aircraft sizing, aircraft systems, aircraft structure design, numerical methods/CFD, propeller, reliability, aviation management (Lean/Six Sigma), electrical/electronic engineering, avionics, air legislation and/or human factors;
(ii) proven records of industry work experience in the areas of aviation/aircraft maintenance; and/or
(iii) solid experience and active on research with good publication records would be an advantage.
(1) Shortlisted candidates will be required to give a teaching demonstration in English at the interview.
(2) The appointee(s) may be required to work irregular hours and perform duties on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(4) The appointee(s) will work on Tsing Yi campus.
