We Offer
  • You will be a trusted legal and strategic advisor to the APAC PB business.
  • You'll provide quality, practical and timely legal advice on the overall regulatory landscape concerning the operation of the Private Banking business, including advice relating to the SFO, Banking Ordinance and other rules and regulations relating to sales and distribution of banking and financial products and services in Hong Kong.
  • You shall provide timely and solution oriented support on general advisory matters and transactions as well as regulatory projects and new business initiatives.
  • You will keep apprised of regulatory and FinTech developments impacting the PB business and partner closely with compliance to provide timely quality and practical advice and/or address regulatory queries.
  • You'll raise material legal, regulatory risks and incidents to GC and PB senior management and support the mitigation/resolution of such risks/incidents.
You Offer
Knowledge requirements:
  • You come with 6-8 years PQE and above (in a recognized common law jurisdiction and/or international commercial practice), with in-house experience in an international financial institution being a significant advantage.
  • You have good knowledge and understanding of Private Banking regulatory matters and products and services.
  • You exhibit good familiarity with Hong Kong Banking / Securities / Financial Services industry and financial instruments and products.
  • You demonstrate deep understanding of the HK Banking Ordinance, Securities and Futures Ordinance and related regulations.
  • Your keen interest and good understanding of developments in the FinTech space and how it impacts banking is an asset.
Required skills/characteristics:
  • You exhibit strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, with the capacity to establish credible and positive relationship with business colleagues and senior business managers.
  • You have the ability to work strategically and independently.
  • You bring the capability to work under pressure without compromising quality.
  • You have drive and passion to succeed.
  • Your ability to speak and write Cantonese and Mandarin will be an advantage in order to partner with internal and external clients.
