Position Summary


Platform Access Commercials (PAC) complements and enables our Platform Strategy, to:

  • Address our customers increasing use of data on an enterprise basis (i.e. data lakes, data science, use of data across desktop, CRM, other apps)
  • Respond to customers growing need to manage their total cost of ownership and predictability of spend for data and related infrastructure, while having flexibility to use data to optimize their business.
  • Allow our customers to maximize the value they get from that spend by leveraging industry best practices.
  • Provide customers flexibility in their use of data and drive our revenue growth in a predictable way.
  • Deliver the Refinitiv Data Platform in our customers as their enabling platform.


Role Responsibilities


For customers and Refinitiv to benefit from PAC, customers will need the ability to accelerate adoption of Refinitiv products and content. The Platform Consultant role is to engage with customers (primarily top 100 banks and asset managers) in a consultative manner, supporting and enable the Sales Specialists and Account Managers in the assessment of PAC sales opportunities and proposal building. The Platform Consultant will:

  • Engage directly with C-level executives (in support of account teams) to drive conversations at a strategic level, understand customer’s business goals, and identify opportunities for Refinitiv content/product usage (e.g. through new/innovative use cases, expanded use of content, and migrations from competitive products.)
  • Share industry best practices for use of data and services across clients, establishing reference clients and use cases that illustrate best practice, including innovative use of Refinitiv content and services.
  • Map customer workflow and content usage to enable Refinitiv product adoption
  • Identify issues that have blocked the customer from using Refinitiv products and content, assess whether those issues remain, and either qualify out the opportunity or develop a plan to resolve.
  • Manage feedback loop with Customer Proposition & Product to define roadmap enhancements needed to support Platform adoption and signing of PAC deals.
  • Assess opportunity/requirement for revenue growth through Professional Services engagement and work with Professional Services team to ensure this is adequately sized/scoped at the pre-sales phase.
  • Support development of the commercial proposal and prepare implementation plan.
  • Maintain an ongoing relationship with PAC customers, including regularly scheduled check-ins, to ensure maximization of the opportunity and to ensure renewal of PAC contracts.
  • Develop and continuously update/enhance consulting playbook to standardize the customer engagement model and maximize value generation for customers and Refinitiv.
  • Facilitate better understanding of downstream content consumption by customers, e.g. how customers consume and manage content, to drive greater understanding of how Refinitiv can provide value.
  • Working with Partners team and Customer Proposition, identify and champion partnerships to facilitate maximum adoption of Refinitiv product and content
  • Work with Customer Proposition to develop and maintain a mapping of Refinitiv content and products that maps to customer workflows and competitive offerings, to facilitate customer migration.


The Platform Consultant will report to the Managing Director of Platform Consulting and will have responsibility across APAC, there will be significant travel requirements within APAC.


Required Skills

  • Strong consultative engagement skills. The ideal candidate will have a background from either
    • A leading global consulting firm (McKinsey, Bain, Boston Consulting, Oliver Wyman, PWC Consulting, Deloitte, KPMG, E&Y, Accenture, IBM consulting…) working with financial customers;
    • A financial services focused consultancy (Tabb, Aite, Greenwich Associates, Celent, Citihub, Burton Taylor, Jordan & Jordan, Capco…)
  • Ability to engage with CTO, CIO, Head of Market Data, Head of Development, Head of Business Unit / Desk
  • Strong business acumen, understanding of capital markets use cases and workflows, and use of data in those workflows, including an understanding of how financial industry customers derive value from content.
  • Understanding of content and enterprise data/information models.
  • Familiarity with either or (ideally) both Refinitiv products and content, or competitive products and content (Bloomberg, Factset, ICE Data, etc).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to credibly interact with proposition teams, customers and other market participants.
  • Experience working at a bank, asset manager, or hedge fund is a plus
  • Experience in customer facing roles such as an account manager, solutions consultant, etc is a plus
