Portfolio Lead

Requirement :


Principle responsibilities of Portfolio Lead, ASP Operations IT are as follows:
  • Manage program strategy and the program approach across a series of projects or component activities, building stakeholder buy-in around plans, commitments and changes


  • Delivery, governance & reporting to stakeholders including the Product owner in the business, leadership of a service line or Product within Technology.


  • Proficient in resources planning against portfolio pipeline, ability to identify dependencies and mitigation plan.


  • Ensure Technology program align to HSBC strategies and contribute to towards achieving strategic aims


  • Provide overall direction and leadership to the project team throughout the project life cycle


  • Manage program budgets, including headcount and software delivery capitalization


  • Manage negotiation with and management of, and service agreement monitoring of third party contracts with Technology suppliers


  • Work across business and technology to establish effective controls, procedures and quality assurance processes for the product in line with the Business Transformation Framework and HSBC Risk and Controls framework

  • Maintain effective and good relationship between the business and the IT Project team, managing appropriate business expectations and negotiating compromise where appropriate.


  • Requirements

  • Degree holder in Information Technology or related disciplines


  • Strong leadership experience in managing large-scaled projects in the banking industry, managing matrix project teams both regionally and globally


  • Experience to liaise with all relevant parties in IT Business and work with senior business stakeholders.


  • Functional knowledge of software development processes and procedures


  • Possess good experience in managing demand pipeline and resources optimization


  • Solid agile project management skills, CI, DevOps and Automated Testing.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, policies and procedures.


  • Commercial acumen and good risk management and mitigation skills.


  • Ability to articulate in writing detailed concepts and to present information to a variety of audiences in a clear and concise manner.


  • Good understanding of IT systems functioning in general. Exposure to technologies such as Java, Linux, Solaris or Oracle would be an advantage.
