Job Duties:

  • Support implementation of ITF project on development of Intelligent Children Education Robot System
  • Work as research and development assistant, including support and conduct the development work, collect and analyze data, develop intelligent system and algorithm, design the mechatronics system, testing and commissioning, prepare proposals and reports
  • Learn and master application of different techniques or technologies, including AI, machine learning, mechanical design, simulation, system design, mechatronics, machine vision, AR/VR, etc.
  • Assist in organizing and delivering promotional activities related to the project, such as study missions, workshops, technical seminars, etc.
  • Support ad hoc projects and assignments when required
  • Need to travel to PRC to perform duties

Job Requirements:

  • Doctorate Degree from disciplines such as Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Computer Engineering
  • Relevant Experience in programming, machine vision mechanical design of automation / robotic system for manufacturing industry an advantage
  • Good interpersonal, presentation and communication,
  • Mature, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, including Putonghua

This is a position funded by the Postdoctoral Hub Programme under the Technology Talent Scheme for the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) R&D project from October 2017 to September 2019.


HKPC will take into consideration both the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the post when selecting the suitable candidates. A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered. The successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
