About the role

As Principal Auditor, you will be assigned to audit activities related to Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions and Corporate Functions in Asia. In this role, you will be challenged to learn new areas of Swiss Re, to assess the effectiveness of the relevant processes, and to come up with workable solutions to any problems you may identify. Unlike most other jobs, you will get the opportunity to interact with many people throughout the Group on a daily basis, including senior executives, and travel to different locations.

Your key tasks are to work in audit teams of two to three members and take ownership of a specific area within an audit. Also, you might lead an audit depending on your experience. Furthermore, you are expected to participate in GIA's initiatives and projects as appropriate.

About the team

Group Internal Audit provide independent and objective assurance that assists the Board of Directors and Group Executive Committee to protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the organisation. We perform audit activities designed to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the Group's internal control systems, and to add value through improving the Group's operations.

About You

Education and experience:

  • 3 - 5 years of work experience in audit, another assurance function or in a professional capacity related to the reinsurance/financial services industry.
  • Good knowledge of (re)insurance, internal control, governance, finance and/or regulatory environments in Asia
  • CPA, CA, CIA or professional certification (preferred)
  • University degree (preferred)

  • Critical thinker that sees the "big picture" (e.g. overall themes, trends, goals), generates innovative ideas and solutions to problems and makes recommendations in the face of complexity, conflicting pressures and ambiguous circumstances.
  • Professional communicator, able to gain and maintain a trusted relationship while delivering difficult messages
  • Structured analyst, capable to adopt and use data-driven auditing including data analytics to assess risks, scope audits and test controls
  • Team worker, able to listen to others but also influence in order to see the wider picture and achieve a vision
  • Fluency in English
