SUMMARY:

Our Global Product Management & Development group is a highly flexible and empowered arm of the executive leadership team, responsible for defining and delivering a global product portfolio of industry-leading Technology Solutions. As Product Development Manager – Power & Connectivity, on our team, you will be responsible for development execution of the global product roadmap interacting with internal teams and working directly with suppliers to deliver products. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Global Product Development managers, Procurement managers, Quality team, Engineering team and Studio to ensure suppliers deliver products on time as well as compliant to all product specifications. We are looking for a passionate, hardworking, flexible, talented, strategically-minded team member, with a track record of working with factories to develop and deliver successful power and connectivity technology products.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Actively support Global Product Development manager to execute multiple projects in parallel as defined in product road map.
  • Actively work with procurement team, quality team, engineering team during product evaluation, qualification, validations stages to ensure new products delivered are on time and meet features specifications, cost and quality requirements.
  • Project managing all deliverables, with suppliers related to bringing new products to mass production with multiple projects simultaneously in a fast pace environment.
  • Update projects status using Targus EDS system to track progress, provide product info, project development documents, design document, reports etc.
  • Support procurement team in RFQ process and technical side of supplier qualification.
  • Visit factories (include overseas traveling) from time to time to support product pilot run or resolve various product development and design issues.
  • Serving as the internal, global technical and subject matter expert for Connectivity & Power products and technology trends.
  • Be the interface to global product development team, quality team and engineering team in regard to factory products issues.

Requirements:

  • Have 5 to 10 years of professional work experience, within the power electronics, computer peripheral industry, as a Product Development Manager, Product Manager, or equivalent role with a strong focus on project execution.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Technical Business equivalent required.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of technical hardware product development processes, from project kick off through various stages of prototyping to pilot run and mass production in manufacturing environment.
  • Have a working knowledge of current and emerging technologies in AC-DC adapters, DC-DC adapters, USB chargers, CLA, battery packs, surge protectors, various types of cables, USB hubs, wireless chargers, inverters etc.
  • Have a clear understanding of product compliance such as UL safety, FCC, CE, RoHS, restricted substances and other industry certifications in various countries.
  • Able to read schematic & fabrication drawing, create detailed product spec & test plan, as well as circuit design is a plus.
  • Have ability to tackle multiple simultaneous projects in a fast pace and changing environment.
  • Have a proven track-record of strong planning and organizational skills, with experience engaging with cross functional teams across multiple countries.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Have highly proficient computing skills with emphasis on MS Office *Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Word)
  • Good written & verbal communication skills in English and good verbal skill in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Leadership skills:

  • Proactive in communication and information sharing.
  • Able to work with and provide directions to suppliers and internal teams to tackle complex product development and design issues across multiple countries.
