Commercial Banking – Global Trade and Receivables Finance

Hang Seng’s Commercial Banking business provides customized one-stop financial solutions to our corporate customers, from prime small and medium-sized businesses to publicly listed companies. 

For customers conducting business locally or around the world, we offer a comprehensive range of services including corporate lending, trade and receivables finance, structured loan, cash management, investment, treasury services, insurance and e-Banking services.  As a reliable financial partner, we attend to the specific business needs of our customers and provide efficient tailor-made banking solutions through our relationship managers and dedicated specialists.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as GTRF Products Manager.
 

Principal responsibilities

  • Within the line of reporting under GTRF Product Management, the role holder is responsible for leading and driving delivery and development of new products and propositions programs, the ongoing management of existing on-shelf products, product risk management, and structuring of tailored solutions

The tasks for this role include the following:

  • Manage and grow existing business, drive the development of new products / propositions to support the achievement of revenue growth targets;
  • Own the structuring of bespoke trade solutions. Build and handle relationships with key service providers, internally and externally. Work closely with colleagues across the bank, including Trade Sales, Services and Client Implementation team, to provide support on structured deals and align with business objectives;
  • Provide technical expertise to front-line Business Development Managers, while ensuring a high quality customer experience;
  • Ensure business relationships for sophisticated, high-value clients are led to successful completion to achieve total customer satisfaction while delivering fair customer outcomes;
  • Stay on top of market trends/ competitors’ activities and make recommendations to fill up product / service gaps and improve competitive strengths;
  • Formulate and launch trade product, service and marketing initiatives that enhance business revenue, customer value and raise brand awareness;
  • Launch customer acquisition and retention propositions to achieve growth in business and our market share. Perform market research and customer information analysis to identify business opportunities;
  • Develop and recommend changes and improvement to current operational procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency;
  • Ongoing product management and risk management and ensure credit and risk considerations, KYC (Know Your Customer) and other procedures/guidelines are adhered to.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project, proposition management or commercial lending, preferably in trade finance;
  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance or related subject areas;
  • A proven understanding of bank products development lifecycle;
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes;
  • Good interpersonal, communication, negotiation and analytical abilities;
  • Attention to details and the ability to use strong judgmental skills to identify, raise, and resolve issues with proposed solutions to relevant stakeholders. Able to see through the matters at hand and make accurate escalation and devise solutions;
  • Being proactive and a strong driver who can actively and effectively engage with different stakeholders within and outside the bank;
  • Being adaptive to new market trends and able to appreciate the application of technology to build strong networks with key team members and to be seen as a key influencer;
  • Customer oriented and to embrace and uphold the importance of service excellence along the client implementation process;
  • Possessing an intermediate level of trade-finance knowledge. Experience in Trade / Supply Chain Finance / Receivables Finance is preferred
